Project Life: Week 42

Sunday: The Girly loves her da-da. She will tell you if you ask her too. She has stopped talking about bu-ba and started talking about da-da all the time.

Monday: We lit a candle for Camden's sister Addilee and all the other little babies that died in the last year.

Tuesday: This is real life. An impromptu trip to First Care for my back made for a busy evening. We came home, ate dinner, Handy picked up my script at the pharmacy, came home and we went to bed!

Wednesday: Let's hope she is always this happy to do laundry.

Thursday: Handy and I celebrated our 4th anniversary with donuts and flowers.

Friday: A stuffy nose for the Girly = some medicine and spending the day in her jammies.

Friday: We got a coat for the Girly last June for $9.00 at Babies-r-us but she didn't have a hat. Problem solved! This hat is the cutest thing and it even came with matching mittens. Somebody's ready for the snow.

Project Life: Week 41

Sunday: The Girl likes to be up high. This is the highest place in the house!

Monday: We finally got a new comforter set. The one we were using was almost 5 years old. It had faded terribly on the Handyman's side and had a hole in it. I like how this one came with toss pillows. It has euro shams too but we don't have the right size pillows for them yet.

Tuesday: State Report Cards came out today and our school was rated EXCELLENT! We got cookies as a reward for all out hard work. Yay Rockets!

Wednesday: 6-month well baby check for the Girly. We were at the doctor's office from 4:25 until 6:45. She got a book, a sticker and 4 shots. We got Wendy's for dinner.

Thursday: The Peanut likes to ride on Handy's knee when he bounces her. She has even fallen asleep while bouncing. I usually sing "Sally the Camel" while we bounce.

Friday: Last week I went shopping for some new brown shoes. I found a pair that I wanted but they were $95. Thank goodness I didn't buy them. I found these new ones in my closet while looking for a sweater. I had completely forgotten that I bought them! So now I have new brown shoes.

Saturday: Time to make baby food! We made sweet potatoes and apples. I think it was kinda fitting that Handy was wearing his Texas hoody while making baby food that was Texas orange.

Project Life: Week 40

Sunday: We took the Girly to visit Miss Heather. We hadn't seen them in ages and it was nice to get to have lunch. We laughed that between the two of them (the Girly's hips and Miss Heather's wrists) we could get one good person.

Monday: Dinner was the best grilled cheese ever! Swiss and bacon with avocado on french bread. Yum!

Tuesday: This is what happens when the Lady tries to pack the pump bag at 5 in the morning. No lids = saran wrap from the cafeteria and rubber bands to the rescue. The funniest part was putting the bottles in the cup holders of the car so they wouldn't spill on the way home.

Wednesday: It's fall! I love putting this wreath on the door every year. Too bad the day I hung it up it was over 70 degrees.

Thursday: I finally got around to sending Mount Union the Girly's birth announcement not to long ago and they sent us this awesome welcome pack. I'm pretty sure the certificate of preliminary admission is my favorite part.

Friday: The Girl is 6 months old!

Stats: 15.5 lbs, 26 inches long. Size 3-6 and 6 month clothes. Size 2 diaper. The harness has set her back a little bit with her scooting but she is sitting up like a champ. She loves her cereal and has been using a sippy cup to drink water. She loves any toy with a tag and to read (more like chew on) books. She talks all the time (it sounds like ba-ba-ba-ba) and blow raspberries. She will smile at anybody if you ask her to "ham it up". She has been waking up two times at night (usually once around 1:30 and then again at 4) and she has two teeth.

We had a visit today to get her harness adjusted. They said everything looks good and we go back Oct. 23 for a second ultrasound to check the positioning of her left hip and the range of motion.

Saturday: We went to the orchard to get apples and some cider. They had a bunch of pumpkins in front of the store so of course I had to put the Girl in them for a picture. She was more interested in eating the straw they were sitting in than smiling for a picture.

Project Life: Week 39

Blogging by Handy Man:

Sunday:    Looks like I stirred a little to hard while making granola bars.

Monday:   Thanks to Charlie for bringing in eggplants we got to have fresh eggplant parm.

Tuesday:   Took the Girly to Akron for her appointment and now she has to wear this harness for three to four months. She has gotten use to it now at first she hated it.

(We were up constantly the first two nights... like ever hour and a half. Thank goodness that didn't last too long)

Wednesday:   Ella loves her brother but we have to make sure she doesn't hurt him.

Thursday:    Thanks to all our lovely family we don't need to buy the girl clothes.

Friday:     Looks like the Girly loves to snack on her bib while waiting for her cereal.

Saturday:    The Lady got the Peanut a bean bag but it looks like more of the filling got on the floor then in the bag. Well at least Bubby didn't get to them.

Project Life: Week 37 and 38

Sunday: We went to the DG family reunion. There were 4 babies there all under 6 months old. Paw Paw thought the Girly needed to taste some sweet tea. I'm pretty sure more of it was spilled down her front than went in her mouth.

Monday: Both of our kids love to strut. We have been trying to take Bubby for more walks before the weather gets too cold.

Tuesday: The girly finally found out that if she pushed the buttons on her exersaucer it would play music. We can also set it to say the colors or make animal sounds.

Wednesday: Handy gave the girl his empty V8 bottle. She probably thought her supper had been super sized.

Thursday: Homemade Chinese food for dinner. Handy was happy! The crab rangoon were really yummy but the General Tso sauce wasn't that great.

Friday: We needed to go to Sam's Club in the worst way. It had been months since we were there. We stocked up on some things and had to get this piggy sleeper for the Girl.

Saturday: Rocket rah, Rocket rah, Rah rah Rockets! Mimi went to the football game with us... thank goodness. We made it through the Homecoming court and first quarter before the girl got fussy and we got really hot. We stood by the fence for the second quarter and headed home at the half.

Sunday: Miss Carol made some tutus for the Girly. They make her look even cuter than normal... If that's even possible.

Monday: Handy found the recipe for homemade Chic-fil-a. I ate most of it before I remembered that I wanted to take a picture. We baked the nuggets instead of baking them but they were still super tasty.

Tuesday: Buddies! Bevo is always interested in what his sister is doing. I think he likes it when she goes to be though because then he gets quality time with his people.

Wednesday: The Girly got a package in the mail. I can't wait until she is big enough to wear this cute outfit from the Columbus Couple. Those socks are just too cute!

Thursday: We had a surprise visit from Gram. The Girl was happy to see her so they had to get their picture taken.

Friday: Now that the Peanut has baby biters we get to brush her teeth. She needed her own toothbrush and toothpaste. We got a longer handled brush too. It's supposed to make it easier to get in her tiny mouth... we will see.

Saturday: Two football games in two weeks! We went to see our favorite cheerleader. It was chilly but the girl was a hit in her bear jacket. She was super bundled up and toasty.

Project Life: Week 36

Sunday: I usually put the Peanut on the bed when I dry my hair. For some reason the blow dryer always puts her to sleep. Unfortunately we can't let her sleep since we are ready to go.

Monday: We went to Nanny and Paw Paw's for Labor Day. The best part for the little kids about visiting is feeding the fish.

Tuesday: We took the Girly to a specialist to get her hips examined. The pediatrician thought she may have hip dysplasia so he referred her to an orthopedic doctor just to be safe. They checked her out and said her hips looked perfect. We go back on the 25th for an ultrasound just to be sure.

Wednesday: The Girl is 5 months old! Stats: Still 13 lbs. Size 3-6 and 6 months clothes. Size 1-2 diapers. She eats every 3.5 - 4 hours and has started eating cereal. She still wakes up once at night usually around 3:00.

She started going to the Pond at church and is rolling around like crazy. She holds her head up like a champ and tries to scoot around on her tummy. The exersaucer is her favorite toy and she spends a lot of time in there. She is learning lots of stuff from the babysitter's daughter who is a little older than she is. They have become pretty good buddies.

Thursday: Pinterest has made making the grocery list super easy! Rather than think about what we want we just check out the recipe board. There are always great things on there and it keeps our menu interesting.

Friday: Handy gave our pizza box to the Girly. She thought it was a pretty good toy... too bad it was empty!

Saturday: It's finally cool enough for Sweet Cheeks to where her baby Chucks. I'm glad her feet didn't get too big before we could wear them on her.

Project Life: Week 35

Sunday: We took the Girly to a class at church for the first time. One of us had spent the last 3 weeks walking around in the hall with her during the service so we decided to take her to the Pond. She did great and was happy to see us when we picked her up.

Monday: This is Handy's solution to sitting down when the girl wants to stand up. As long as she is high in the air she is happy. I don't know if I want him training her to be an acrobat at her age.

Tuesday: Handy surprised me with crazy daisies and the new tobyMac cd. I like surprises.

Wednesday: I think I have officially earned the title of "bag lady". I have so many clutchy objects that I have to make two trips to the car before we leave and when we get home.

Thursday: The Girly is really starting to love her exersaucer. I think it may have replaced her baby mat as the favorite toy around here.

Friday: We went to calling hours for Grandpa Fawver. I'm glad he got to see Ella at the beginning of the month. She liked rocking in his chair with him.

Saturday: We took the Girly to her first baseball game. She was more interested in Handy's empty pepsi cup than watching the game. She did great and didn't get too fussy. There were 2 other babies in our section so we didn't have to worry about being disruptive.
