Penny Pinchers

Check out that ticket!

Talk about clipping coupons and shopping around. Yesterday we got some coupons in the mail and there was one for Folgers coffee. We don't usually buy Folgers because it is so expensive but the second I saw the coupon I remembered that Giant Eagle was running a special this week and Folgers was on sale for $5.99. (We were there on Sunday looking for Tahini... long story... we found it but weren't going to pay $8.99 for some sesame seed butter)

I could hardly wait to go to the store. I knew we were going to get a killer deal!

Yep, that's right... we saved 50 percent!

To make a great shopping trip even better we used a redbox promo code on the way out of the store and got a free movie rental.

I sense a subscription to Cheapskate Monthly in our future!

Around Town

I haven't been taking many pictures lately so I decided to take my camera on our pup stroll tonight. It was actually really easy to find things to take pictures of since everything is starting to bloom and look so pretty.

This was some flowering bush on the way to the square. I just thought it looked cool with the house behind it.

These pinwheels have been on the courthouse stairs for a week or so. The girl scouts put them up for child abuse awareness. It looks pretty cool when they all start spinning in the sun.

This is our latest family photo. Kinda artsy-fartsy but completely cool! I love how you can see Bevo's tongue.

These are growing in our front flower bed and we don't know what they are. Any ideas?

Yard Work

It all started with the new stones for the walkway. (Which was supposed to be a 20 min. job)

Then we edged and tilled the flower bed to the right of the steps.

After than we edged and tilled the bed to the left of the steps. (Don't mind Juan. He was asking where the dog was.) We still need to get some edging to go between the walkway and the garden.

Finally we dug up some dead grass and put the sod from the flower beds in. Then we put the picnic table on top of the sod so the dog doesn't dig it up up.

Two and half hours later we finally had to go inside because it was starting to rain!

Better yet

If you thought my Easter roses looked nice in the last post you should see them now!

They seem to be getting more beautiful by the day. Closed was nice but the more they open up the more I love them.

They look pretty nice on the table by the front door. Notice the new "g" we picked up on our last trip to Sugarcreek. I love finding new ones!

"Good" Friday

Could have been "Great" Friday if it wouldn't have rained on our Opening Day.

We managed to snap some pictures between the raindrops...

There were some pretty cool festivities. The Ohio State Marching Band was the best part.

This was taken before it started raining... Notice the smiles. They were suddenly absent after sitting in 40 degree weather while your hands, arms, legs, whole self was soaked.

After a three and a half hour rain delay they are starting to play again. This time we will be watching from the comfort of our own sofa not a cold, plastic, wet stadium seat.

Spring has sprung

Our daffodils are finally open! We were surprised to see the colors of these ones. Richie said the inside almost looks pink. Most of the ones we have seen in other gardens are the yellow ones. Now we just have to hope it doesn't snow and make them wilt!

Anxiously waiting on tulips...

The people who get to eat these...
