The Real Reason We Went to the Fair

I had been thinking about a dairy bar milkshake for the last week. They are sooooo good!

Since it was a Tuesday we didn't mind driving to the Amish... It's so much less crowded than on the weekends but there aren't as many free samples!

I was surprised that some of my pictures turned out since I took them out of the car window while Handy was driving.

Of course we had to have lunch at the Cheese!

This may possibly be the best roast beef sub in the world... yum-o!

Let's Jam!

I have wanted to make homemade jam since we moved two summers ago. I suppose it has something to do with all of the Amish in the area (they make everything homemade and it's all super tasty) and finally having my own kitchen to use. Since I knew we were going to pick strawberries I knew I would have enough to make some jam.

I was surprised that it really wasn't too hard, even for me... I think the hardest part was not getting the juice everywhere when crushing the berries.

Lots of stirring made me happy...

Bevo had to supervise.

I ended up with 9 containers of jam and I only used half of the berries we picked.

Lost in Translation

It appears that "staff appreciation week" is really code for "consuming 3000 calories of deliciousness daily".

I don't think I have ever seen a cinnamon roll larger than this one... It's sitting on a full size dinner plate.

Pile O' Pancakes

There's nothing like a steaming pile of pancakes to warm your tummy on a cold night.

When I told the Handy Man to make a double batch I never thought we would end up with 22 pancakes for two people... Good thing they are just as good for lunch the next day.
