Lunchtime Randomness

My new favorite beverage. I love trying all the different flavors. I love them even more when they are on sale at the gas station.

How many days does it take to make a massive ball out of saran-wrap? The world may never know...

Note to self

Never leave boys alone with your car and toilet paper. Even if the car is outside and the toilet paper is in building.

I left my car at laser quest for ten minutes and when I came back this is what I found. Of course the crazy boys who did it were proud of their work and hung around to see what my reaction was.

Thank goodness it didn't rain before we took all the paper off. That would have been a mess!!

Card making with Aunt Connie!

Aunt Connie had a Stampin' Up! party at her house last Thursday. I was so excited to go since it was actually something I am interested in. Usually I get invited to Pampered Chef or Tastefully Simple parties which are nice, but all of that stuff is really for Richie more than me. I have the scrapbook market covered in our house so it was super fun to see things that I would buy for myself! The only problem was that I wanted everything! I settled for only $88.00 worth of stuff but it was so hard to choose.

These are the cards they taught us to make. I followed the directions for the first one with the flowers but I changed it up some for the second one. It had horses on it and I wasn't crazy about them but I loved to paisley stamp they had so I made my own design.

So much fun! I need to make cards more often. It would be a great way to use up all those scraps I have left over from my pages.

Hot Wings!!

Last Saturday we drove all the way to PA to get some wings at Quaker Steak. We have the same restaurant on the Strip but the service isn't so great and the atmosphere is better at the original. Richie's mom told us she wanted to go for her birthday and we decided to make a day out of it. The wings were excellent. We even took a bucket home. Of course I liked the ones Richie picked more than the ones I ordered but that's how it always goes.

The benefits of being the one with the camera meant that I didn't have to stick my head in this silly sign.

I was really excited to see the sign fot New York City, even if it was 390 miles away. It took me about 3 tries to get this picture. Every time I would put my camera away we would see a sign that said NYC. Everybody in the car was looking for a sign that said New York. I finally got smart and left my camera on my lap.

Friday Night Lights

Well there really weren't any lights but I liked the title.

I got my camera out for a little sports photography. This time it was much easier than the swim meet debacle where the terrible lighting gave me blurry photos. I wanted to get closer but not be a pest since there were people who were actually watching the game instead of trying to get good action shots. My one recomendation would be a score board for the field. Most of the time I had no idea what inning it was or what the score was. I could tell from the grandma from the visiting team that was complaining next to us that her team wasn't winning.

My attempts at being a sports photographer:

This one is my favorite. I like how you can see the ball on the right edge. Richie says it was luck that I got it in there but I think it's my amazing photo skills. Ha!

What do you do in your spare time?

I'm sure whatever it is, it's much more fun than what I have been doing. I feel like I write thank you notes for a living! I don't mean this to sound in any way like complaining or like I'm un-greatfull, because I am happy that I have such generous friends. It just seems like all I do in my spare time is write thank you notes. I have written 25 since last Saturday. So many that I used all of the ones I had at home and an entire pack that I bought last time I went shopping. I still have more to go and this is only shower 1 of 3!!

Richie says I should use all of my wedding shower thank you's as practice for the ones I will be writing in October. He gets off easy, all he has to do is sign his name!

With this ring...

I've had this for a while. I usually just keep it in my sock drawer (how silly is that?) But lately I have been thinking more and more about what it means to be married.

On the surface it seems really easy. Tons of people are married, both happily and unhappily but if they can do it, what is the big deal. I realize now that it's about knowing that someone will always be on your side no matter what. It's about not saying things you know will hurt someone. It's about always looking for the positive. It's about compromise. It's about waiting to get what you want. It's about dealing with anger that is directed at you even though it's not your fault. But mostly it's about doing these things for someone else when they can't do it for themselves.

Some clairity please

I may be the only one who thinks this but isn't it important to practice what you preach? I guess by the time I got to my Masters level classes I would have this school thing all figured out but as soon as I think I have it under control I end up with a class like the one I'm taking now. Since we are reviewing appropriate ways to give tests and analyze results that perhaps these ideas would be put into practice in the class. I guess I'm wrong. I have never had this hard of a time guessing what was going to be on the test. Some times I feel that the instructor should begin every class with the disclaimer: Do as I say not as I do.

This is my happy book... not too much to write in it lately. Hopefully that will change soon.
