More from Halloween

Lots of fun costumes this year!

The hayride was fun but really cold... we only made it half way and then walked back to the house.

Farm Tour... take 2

The feed plant was way more interesting than I thought it would be. So much of it is automated that they can finish more than 20 bags a minute.

This was the warmest part of the whole tour and they gave away free stuff... Always take the free stuff.

I think we could put these boys to work.

Farm Tour... take 1

The dairy farm was the best stop on the farm tour this year.

They talked about how much milk they produce daily and had samples of chocolate milk and ice cream.

There were lots of cute baby cows in the barns.

This cow was my favorite. I love her spotted nose.

Saturday Morning Date

We had a rare opportunity to get out and about early on Saturday morning. One of the best parts about fall in T-county is the apples. Handy had wanted to go to an orchard for a few years so we got in the car and headed out to Hillcrest.

They had way more than just apples. Pumpkins and squash were everywhere. The produce was amazing and we ended up getting squash and eggplant along with our apples and cider.

No Saturday morning trip is complete without a stop at the Cheese.

Truck and Tractor Pull

Quite possibly the loudest night of my life... Thank goodness for the nice man in front of us who gave me some ear plugs.

The tractors were cool. This one got stuck in the mud. They had postponed the start because of rain and the track was wet.

These bad boys were loud. This truck is owned by someone in the Handy Man's family. Pretty cool stuff.

We even got to sit on the bleachers that had backs... One of the perks of getting there early.

Fair!

Friday night trip to the fair was super fun. We hadn't been for the last two years but it was still pretty much like we remembered it.

Handy got to spend the evening with 3 girls... He's quite the ladies man.

The barns were nice...

but the truck and tractor pull was way cooler.

Door Decoration

We put our wreath back on the door after the wind went away. We had it up for about an hour on Sunday night but when things started blowing down the street Richie thought it might be a good idea to bring it in the house.

It looks perfect!

Pumpkin Pickin'

Last Saturday we took Tara's boys to a pumpkin patch up in Hartville. We picked pumpkins, went on a hayride, wandered for a hour though a corn maze, played in a "corn box" which made my eyes water and went to a petting zoo. We had a great time. I think the boys got a little tired since Zach layed down in the middle of the corn maze and announced that he was tired. We tried to get him to get up by telling him the tractor was coming but his answer was "Just run me over". I think it may be a fun tradition to start with Richie's nieces and nephews, and later with our own kids.

Here are some pics from our trip:

Sweet Zach, posing for me while we waited to pay for the pumpkins.

Arrrrg! I found some pretty cute pirates at the entrance to the pirate ship corn maze

There were
supposed to be maps like these in the corn maze but this was the only one we could find. We ended up following Richie as he cut through all the rows.

I made Gram take our picture after the afternoon of carving. Cyan wanted to get in on the fun. Actually I think it is because she wanted us off her bench

This is Richie's Buckeye pumpkin. When he explained to me how he was going to carve it I thought he was nuts. He really just scraped the picture into the pumpkin. The only part he cut out is the leg at the bottom.
