Tuesday: We went to visit Grandma, Grandpa and Puff. Gracie got to eat cookies with sprinkles, practice her walking on the patio, play with stones and ride on the golf cart. She had a good time.
Wednesday: I got out my favorite summer lotion! I usually have one open aloe lotion and a spare in the cabinet. I love that stuff for summer time. It's not heavy and smells great. I've been using it every summer for almost 5 years now.
Thursday: The Girly is 14 months old!
Stats: 20.4 lbs (according to the bathroom scale) Size 12 month clothes. Size 4 shoes. Size 3 diaper. Started walking without the activity walker on May 31st!
Favorites: animal crackers, anything with a kitty on it (clothes, books, toys, plates), activity walker, sitting in the bowl cabinet, bubbles, turning on the lights with a remote, bath time.
Says: hello, ball, cup, ow (cat), woof-woof (dog), num-num (yummy), shhhh (shoes), yes, no, cookie, mel-mo (Elmo), Dada, more, fsssss (fish), buba (Bevo)
Friday: The Girly's magazine came in the mail. She loves reading her new books when they come. I like the paper that comes with it to record milestones each month. We keep it on the fridge and write down stuff she does or says.
Saturday: We went to a shower for Baby McMannis. It was retro / rainbow themed since they don't know if the Baby is a he or a she. It turned out super cute!
Sunday: Gracie went out on the boat with Miss Carol, Timmy, Gab, Rusty and Roxie. She looked super cute in her swimsuit and even left her ear plugs in the whole time.
Monday: Busy weekend = worn our Girly.
Tuesday: The Girly's Baby be Blessed finally came in the mail! We ordered it in January as a gift for her 1st birthday. We thought 4 months would be enough time for them to make it but apparently they were really backed up from last Christmas. I hope she loves it as much as I do!
Wednesday: Last day of school! Eight years done... 27 to go!
Thursday: Looks like it's time to retire the boob buddy. We had a good run but I haven't had to use this thing in a week. Hooray!
Friday: Homemade cinnamon sticky buns? Yes please! I made these to go along with the crock pot breakfast casserole we had for dinner. Not Friday's usual pizza but still super yummy.
Saturday: We took Gracie to her second baseball game. She was just starting to walk and we spent more time on the walkway behind our seats and in the kids land than watching the game. We did get to see 2 homeruns though.
Sunday: Someone was playing in cozy coupes at the ball park yesterday so Dada decided to put hers together. We didn't know if she could do it since the age is 2 and up. She likes to open the door and climb in and out. She pushes it from the back but can't make it go with her feet yet. We decided to call her car "beep beep".
Monday: We went to the library to sign up for summer reading. The Girl got her own bag, reading log and bingo card. She had fun looking at the fish and picking some books.
Tuesday: I think someone was eating cake with sprinkles on the sofa.
Wednesday: Hanging out with GiGi. Gracie gets spoiled being at home with GiGi. They watch tv, eat snacks, take naps and read books all day.
Thursday: Ladies Night dinner at the Bistro. We had a party for Miss Pat since she is retiring and moving to New Hampshire. We can't wait to go visit her next summer.
Friday: Working in the middle of a cornfield = tractors in the parking lot.
Saturday: The Girl went to her first soccer game. She did really well crawling around on the blanket and eating snacks. She even clapped with everybody when they scored a goal. We cheered for the Orange team and they won 5-2.
Sunday: Congratulations Class of 2013!
Monday: Memorial Day was cool but we still managed go outside at Nanny's. The Girly had never played on the trampoline before. She thought it was pretty fun. We thought it was pretty fun seeing her hair stand on end.
Tuesday: I think it's about time the neighbors cut their grass. I'm giving them another week before I call the city and complain. (Update - They mowed it two days after I took this photo)
Wednesday: This boy keeps leaving us prizes to find in the kitchen every morning. If he doesn't quit that he'll be spending the night in his box again. It's been almost 2 years since we had to make him sleep there at night.
Thursday: Even after measuring our new appliances didn't fit. Apparently making things to fit in the appropriate space is so 2012. Thankfully the store worked with us and got some with doors that we could actually open if the fridge was pushed back against the wall.
Friday: Since we were having issues with our fridge we didn't have any left overs for lunch. I bought a lunch in the cafeteria for the first time since middle school. It was better than I remember!
Saturday: We had to pose for a picture since we were all dressed up for a mother / daughter banquet.
Sunday: We cooked on the grill for the first time this year. Mmmmmm cheeseburgers!
Monday: Wahoo what a finish! The Indians won with a walk-off home run in the 10th inning after being behind 3 different times. Gracie was happy to wear her new Tribe onesie.
Tuesday: We always leave the washer open after we finish the laundry so it can dry. Apparently Gracie thinks Davis needs a bath since we found him hanging out waiting to be washed. I'm not so sure Bevo would be excited to see his buddy in the washer.
Wednesday: We picked up some tomato seed kits on clearance at Tractor Supply. Handy planted them and they just started sprouting. Hopefully they grow fast... we want tomatoes before September!
Thursday: I have been spending most of the last month with this book and flashcards. It has been a while since I got my Masters so I really needed to review before taking the Administration test. I finally took the test and I passed it!
Friday: Someone's closet is ready for summer! Now I just need to get mine switched over.
Saturday: The cutest couple at Prom 2013!
Sunday: Happy Mother's Day!
Monday: We got a snack cup for the Girly so she can feed herself snacks without spilling them everywhere. She thinks that we got her the cup so she can feed one to herself and one to her brother. Bevo thinks it's a great idea.
Tuesday: We gave the Girly a spoon for the first time. She knew that it was supposed to go in her mouth but didn't realize that she had to be careful not to dump the food off it before getting it into her mouth.
Wednesday: Apparently we have been using the toy box wrong this whole time. The toys are supposed to be outside the box not inside it!
Thursday: Rummage Sale finds. I can't wait to use that peeler when we make applesauce in the fall!
Friday: We went to watch Jacob play baseball on Friday night. We did more baby wrangling that baseball watching but it was still nice to be outside.
Saturday: Derby Day! We went to a surprise party for one of the Davis cousins and to watch the Kentucky Derby. It was so exciting to watch with everyone. Everybody squeezed into the living room for the 2 minutes of the race.
Sunday: The Girly is 13 months old!
22-ish lbs. Size 12 month clothes, size 3 diaper, size 3 shoes.
Favorites: food: hotdogs and green beans... toys: books, stacking cups, activity walker, sand box... tv show: the Brady Bunch... Finally sleeping through the night, still takes 2 naps during the day. Still not walking without holding on to something. Says "ow" (cat), "goggy" (dog), "uh oh", "yeah", mama and dada. Waves hello and good bye, loves cats!!!
Monday: Bubby got a card from the pet store for his birthday that had a $5 gift certificate in it. We got him a new rope toy to play with.
Tuesday: We took the Girly for a check on her hip. They did an x-ray and the doctor was happy with what he saw. He said to keep her in the harness at night as long as we can. He said eventually she will learn how to work the velcro and that's when she can stop wearing it!
Wednesday: I have been taking pictures of our dinner for a while so I thought I should take a picture of the Girly's dinner too. She eats pretty much whatever we do with a side of fruit and a sippy of milk.
Thursday: Girls Night to see Taylor Swift at the Q. Handy got us some awesome seats and then stayed home with Gracie so Mama could have some fun.
Friday: Visiting with Uncle Randy = learning about birds (it doesn't matter how old you are).
Saturday: We finally made it to Cabella's. We were planning to go a few weeks ago but couldn't because Handy had to work. The Girly had a good time looking at all the animals, seeing them feed the fish and even got her own pink cammo hat.
Monday: Apparently "help in the kitchen" means "throw tupperware all over the floor". We have given up re-organizing the drawer all the time.
Tuesday: Sheet pan - palooza! Handy has been working late every other week so I have been attempting to make dinner. I haven't made anything that was too terrible yet. Thank goodness Pinterest has lots of easy recipes!
